Creepy But Happy

I got to the track meet after work. Missus JP and her dad were already there, sitting up high on the bank above the track, near the fence. I sat down on a blanket that the missus had provided. Looking around, I noticed something right behind me over my right shoulder. It was this baby in a bag.

Relay Race

Running the last leg of the relay race, she took off too soon and too fast. She had to nearly stop for her teammate to catch up and pass the baton, and then had to start running again. The opposition had a smooth passing of the baton; their anchor was ahead by ten yards. Olivia closed the gap to within one stride at the finish line, but it wasn't enough.

That's awesome. Good on her and her strength and endurance!

I was such a clutz in school. I always dropped the baton.

Leftovers

I was there for an hour; this bottle was in the grass in front of me as I looked over and past it during the track meet. At first there were a half dozen ants crawling all over the bottle. And then there weren't any. I guess they must have been summoned by the queen.

Or killed by the heat. The evaporation inside was intense, no? Fri 8-May-2009 22:01

Wonderful opportunities come along again with grandchildren and hopefully even great-grandchildren. How much can I get in by 93 years, not that that will be the end? Sun 17-May-2009 22:41

Amber Alert

A friend from Europe and I had a project in the works: I couldn't get amber headlights here in the U.S. because they're illegal. So we were going to do some shopping and trading. In the meantime, I started digging a little deeper, and I actually found some on a website that sold all kinds of service lighting. In fact, I believe that's the name of the company, Service Lighting.
These sealed beam bulbs are fog lamps for semi trucks, but they are a perfect fit here. I had to make jumper wires for the screw connections on the backs; my car's connections are for spade lugs.
Anyway, the headlamps were just $11 each and they work great even though they're only 35 watts each. So maybe I can't see all that well, but... looks before function!

Sorry about the snapshot quality of the foto, utility pole growing out of the roof and all. But I pulled the car out of the garage to get out the lawnmower and put away the snowblower. No time for a modeling session today.

Driving around the 610 loop by the Galleria today, I saw three cars with different Michigan plates.

Actually, I've seen many Michigan plates around my area lately. I haven't seen them in green yet.

I don't get the point of the amber lights. I want the car to be pure. Fri 8-May-2009 23:56

Sorry, A2 Observer, but it's way too late for that. The previous owner cut holes in all four quarter panels for side marker lights that are not as from the factory. (I think he must have had the car in Europe, where different lighting is required; I suspect he was in the military, as the car was from Denver.) The exhaust system isn't original, the suspension isn't original, the tires and wheel treatment aren't as original. All these other things are changes made by me, but I guess we can each decide which is an improvement and which is a detriment from original purity. As a car like this becomes an expression of one's self, I think this is more pure.

The Tree In My Dreams Last Night

Somebody said of it, "...it has a direct connection to heaven is what i see."

It's true: spiritual nourishment is pulled down by a strong magnetic-like force, into the small branches, routed into the larger branches, down through the tree's trunk, and from there the energy is directly injected into Earth itself. That heaven energy, only slightly diminished from its full intensity, finds its way to all of the Great Creator's creatures which roam the lands. Those who know of the secret connection with Earth know to remove their shoes and walk upon the dirt and grass in order to more fully absorb spiritual nourishment.

OK. So if it go underground and walk barefoot, I could get a bigger dose?

Interesting picture.

I am with you, you are right man! As for the lens, yes Marvin is very pleased with it. Its big and heavy but it works. Have used with an 1,4 teleconverter. You loose the AF and better use a tripod. Please see the photos taken today, all hand held. Sun 3-May-2009 20:48
